| Welcome to Meads Music Festival. We hope you find the information contained in our website useful. We always welcome any feed back you may have in terms of the content of the website or the Festival and its future development. Following the success of our first festival in May 2011, we are pleased to announce that this year's festival will take place each Sunday afternoon in May (6th, 13th, 20th & 27th) in The Birley Centre at Eastbourne College in Carlisle Road. Consolidating the aims of the festival, we are delighted to present outstanding young performers and international artists. The festival opens with a Masterclass featuring the Glyndebourne Jerwood Artists under the direction of the renowned singer Dame Ann Murray. Our second concert is a recital by the internationally-acclaimed pianist Lars Vogt. On 20th May, we welcome The Heath Quartet, a group of young players with a rapidly rising reputation, who will be joined by the pianist James Bailleu, who appeared so memorably in last year's festival. Our final concert will feature a vocal recital with the celebrated young tenor Allan Clayton. Tickets will be on sale from 1 April through our website, the Tourist Information Centre, 8 Cornfield Road, Eastbourne, or from The Birley Centre Box Office (Tel. no. tbc). Tickets will be priced at £18 per concert with a package price of £60 for all four concerts. |
